Research Summary :
To understand and appreciate tribal art like that of the Warli art ,we also need to reach in-depth of this art to understand the context in which it has been created and role of the painting in their community life and motivation and ideas behind their creation. The indicators and attributes will be developing to capture the motivation and ideas behind the painting. The Warli art is also the iconic representation of their rituals, myths, and legends from the collective memory of the tribes passed down from generation to generation. The image that is made on the walls of the house is not just the painting we understand by word but it itself bring fulfillment in the household who executed it. Themes depicted in the Warli paintings symbolize the nature-cultural and social relationship. Painting for the Warli people is simply for enjoyment and self-fulfillment; they are intrinsically motivated from within for this activity. The Warli people engage themselves in painting for their own internal satisfaction and fulfillment rather than to receive any reward from outside their forest.
